Hook your SqueezeBox/TP up with TosLink or the DIGITAL RCA Coax (S/PDIF). Set your SqueezeBox/TP to disable volume (which will set it Max digitally). Use your receiver to control volume. If your receiver supports DTS/DD which I believe it does download a DD and/or DTS test file and see if it plays. If it does not then you have something setup wrong.
