Check the typical stuff. Replay gain may be fooling you. Check to see
if you just need to adjust the volume for replay gain if it is on. You
may also be running flac to mp3 at a low quality. Check your settings.
Settings then the player tab, then audio and see if you have bit rate
limiting set. Should be no limit. Make sure you have high quality set
as ppl have said this does affect things. If you use replay gain and
smart gain is set make sure you turn it up to compensate for most
albums. That is if you are comparing to the internet radio. A lot of
albums drop 7-10db's with replay gain so if you compare it to something
with no replay gain it will not sound near as good in comparison. You
just have to turn it up. Also check under the advanced tab and look at
file types. Make sure flac is native and disable mp3 under flac so it
doesn't transcode to mp3. This may be the problem. Some people have it
transcode to wav but it should be better as flac for bandwidth. Anyway
some ideas for you.
