Hi, I was hoping for a few tips to get the most out of my new player. I've just acquired a Transporter to use with a Dussun amp and newly installed in-wall speakers.
I've been fairly unimpressed so far with the new setup and was hoping for a few pointers to get me started. When I first installed the Transporter it sounded a very harsh and distorted, I had all gain off and all what I thought was the right settings, I'm sure I read that the volume should be 100%, but I've tried it at -20DB and it does sound better. So, do you recommend that I open it up and change the internal attenuators (I'm using un-balanced cables), will this allow me to turn the volume control off?........does it improve the sound, If I do? My last CD player had a digital volume control and it also sounded harsh at 100% output. I can use the Dussun amp as a power amp (bypassing the pre-amp)and putting the Transporter straight into it, but I read somewhere on this forum, it's not advised. I'm hoping to get the player sounding better and it's not the new speakers that aren't upto the job. -- richardl10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ richardl10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22045 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56769 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
