I bought a Beresford dac about 4 months after the sb3. Its a decent bit
of kit, very handy to have a bunch of inputs/outputs. After 12 months i
decided i really wanted to close the sonic gap between my sb3/dac combo
and my Musical Fidelity A3 cd player, but wasn't sure what to get. I
opted to try the Zero Dac with upgraded HDAM in the Dac, and it was
much better than the Beresford, pretty close to my reference sound. The
HDAM was made by Audio-gd in China, and over the holiday i bought the
DAC-3SE from them which is amazing, truly a stunning DAC, now i have a
fabulous sound and all the convinience of the server.

Looking back i'd say the Bereford dac is a different flavour rather
than a better sound.
