When I first arrived here from Germany I fired up my Quad 77 tuner, it was no better than the analogue output from the Virgin Cable Box (128K/s MP2?) After adding a Beresford DAC fed from the optical out of the Virgin Box, it pulled ahead of the FM Tuner. 128Kb/s streams via the SB3 and the Beresford are often better than the Virgin Box. There are a few 320Kb/s streams that are even better. The FM tuner may have performed better if I had put up my five element antenna; but I will not be here long, and I was not convinced I would get a decent signal so I didn't bother - it would cost!
