Buying stuff goes a bit like this for me

a) that looks interesting but i cant afford it
b) the reviews are brilliant and apparently this guy is totally
revisiting his entire record collection because of the new insights it
brings but i cant afford it
c) Ha the wife has bought something very nearly as expensive but dull -
like a new washing machine or something trivial like that - this is my
chance to regain some sort of moral high ground whilst buying it
d) Ive found it online for $10 less - they are virtually giving it
away!
e) I buy it I wait feverishly for it to arrive (if I am really
desparate I watch unboxing videos on utube but I'm getting help with
that)
f) It comes I hook it up. Expectations dizzy.
g) Slight disappointment - music not transformed
h) Buyers remorse
i) Some days or weeks later - hey it is better, kinda, and certainly
more shiney that the previous unit and anyway the money is long gone
now so...

I find burn in time is curiously similar to the gap between h) and
i)...
