Ya I think that was the problem... I was using a glass fibre toslink cable, which is a piece of $...@#%. The connector is round, not the proper D shape, so it doesn't fit and align well. I threw it out, and went back to a cable with the correct, nice and snug fitting, plug, and all is well again! Having done that, I couldn't get the TP to display the incoming sample rate.
