The hiss is most likely from the SB analogue outs - to test, select
another source on the pre and see is the hiss stays - if so, then it is
the pre itself. Or, disconnect the power to the sb - if hiss goes it is
the SB.
The hum is most likely to be induced 50hz mains hum from the cable to
your power amp... make sure your mains and signal cables cross each
other at 90 degrees and dont run parallel to each other.
Shielded mains cable MAY help.
Make sure all connections are clean. Check mains to ensure earth
connections are tight.
Don't run ANY signal cables near mains transformers.

My system has >1kw of amplification running 6 speakers with an overall
FR of 18-25kHz and no hum or hiss at all at max volume with nothing
playing. However I don't use the SB analogue outs...

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
