Just because there are some more recent DAC chips on the market definitely doesn't mean that they are better than (for example) the Benchmark. The circuit design is just as - possibly more - important in getting a good sound! -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
