I have no idea if that would be possible, but I get the feeling it would be a non-trivial fix.
Taking into account that this isn't really the intended usage of the Transporter, it really is an edge case scenario, I wouldn't think it would be very high on the developers wish list, especailly as the transporter can only handle stereo.
