OK, I'm wandering into a "audiophile" thread where I really don't belong, but... I don't see how modifying the power supply on the SB3 could possibly effect the sound using an external DAC. The only POSSIBLE improvement would be to somehow reduce the jitter. For that reason, I could imagine that something which improves the clock recovery in the DAC might make a difference to the sound. Otherwise, the information is still just "bits", and the downstream DAC will correctly turn that into the analog waveform unless there is enough noise on the digital interface between the SB3 and the DAC to actually introduce bit errors - that would be A LOT of noise.
