Where is the impedance mismatch? Even if the splitter was not properly
designed to deliver a 50 ohms net lead result, it would only move 25
ohms (assuming its an audio cable) as far as the cable is concerned. Not
like you're changing to 10K ohms with Y leads. Also its the impedance
differences in the source equipment to the input equipment that is most
important, not specifically the cable (as long as its close to the RCA
spec). Besides if you buy the proper Y cable, it is designed to keep it
at a 50 ohm RCA spec cable.
