I was wondering this, and related topics when Stereophile gushed all over the Meridian gadget that claims apodising filters, etc. Make no mistake, I think a lot of Meridian gear sounds great, but its also really, really expensive, and a bunch of their marketing stuff (just replace the card to add new features) is approaching absurd. My main stereo cost about $10K a decade ago and the only upgrade that made any sense was replacing my SB/Benchmark setup with a Transporter. Just because the pictures are pretty and the theory attractive, it does not mean that this is a real improvement. -- Pat Farrell http://www.pfarrell.com/ _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
