I got a TC-7520 4 weeks ago. Plugged it into a squeezebox receiver and let internet radio play non-stop until yesterday. I finally compared it to my Platinum Modwright Transporter (a $4800 front-end after all, including some fine tubes). No, it is not a giant killer of THAT magnitude, but I have to say I like it better than a Benchmark DAC 1 I owned earlier, especially in a lower budget second system. The headphone output is icing on the (cheap)cake and USB sounds much better than expected. The sound does not have the weight and density of the Modwright, but I was shocked at how relatively small the difference really is (given the difference in $$). As the affordableaudio.org review stated, I am not sure you can do a whole lot better at under $1k, not to speak of the current $249 retail price. Oh, I am not even feeling the need to do any upgrades. It's fine the way it is. That's a first for me....
