But, yes, the connection between a SB and a server is error-checked and
retransmitted until it is correct. If the rip is losslessly encoded,
then it will come out the digital outs exactly as it was ripped.

Your speakers are arguably the most important part of the chain... so,
yeah, it makes perfect sense.
