I'm a Mac only house, but if anyone knows an OSX compatible program that performs as AudioDiff Maker I'd be pleased to present the differences. That said, I don't want to start any "more expensive is more hifi" debate. I don't believe that to be true. In fact, some of the more expensive components are here in my cabin system, such as cabling, because they sound better here than they do at home. Yet, the most identifiable and interesting subjective value I noticed is the soundstage: The SB3 DAC combo gives me a greater comfort zone than the TP. With the TP I (as Themis again points out), feel it necessary to be in the perfect spot - easy enough - I've followed the Golden Triangle setup and have the sweet-spot aligned with my head in my favorite chair. But the SB3 DAC seems to flow out side of that zone more than the TP, giving me room to move yet still hear/see the stage. I may be in a rare (or little spoke about) situation where my SB3 and DAC sound better to me than my TP does. -- kphinney -I like it, you may not.
