Cliveb is right Clipped midrange / bass frequencies, tend to produce square like waveforms, therefore from Fourier Series, must contain significant high frequencies. Many loudspeakers, even supposedly high power only have 6 watt rms handling tweeters. Also some specialist designers run tweeters below recommended lower frequency limit, trying to improve crossover performance, but reducing power handling further.
