I have connected my TP directly to my Classe power amp using balanced leads. Use it as a dac/pre-amp for other devices as well. There are two problems with this setup. depending on the recording I can't turn the volume down as much as I would like. At -49,5 db the music is still marginally too loud in some situations (background music during dinner). At the other end at 0 db the TP can't drive my amp to it's full potential.
Reply gain solves the first problem, the second is not really a problem. At 0 db it's still loud as hell.
