I've got a vintage Marantz 2225 receiver from the '70s. Had it refurbed a couple of years ago by a local shop that specializes in such things. (They replaced a few caps, cleaned the switches, and the like.) Its sound quality puts to shame many other pieces of gear I've compared it with over the years, and it comes frighteningly close to my high end gear (Red Wine Audio) that cost about 10X as much.
