To my amazement, I hear the difference quite well. I'm not sure how to describe it (never was good at finding words for this). If I look at it, maybe the Esoteric 'spin' about slow roll off describes it not that bad.
Because I can set the filter only from my Windows machine while my library is on a Linux box, fast switching is out of the question at the moment. I have to put in on/off, switch to the other library and play. I listened to the first part of the Köln Concert (Keith Jarrett) and Svens remarks about the effect on the ambience change also seems quite close to what I hear. My first impression: I like the sound, but it seems in some music slow roll off has a bit of a 'muddling' effect. In another piece (track 3 of Amused to death) possibly the same effect smoothes the girl's voice that tends to be a bit shrill. I certainly will experiment further. -- Teus de Jong ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Teus de Jong's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15415 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76763
