OK - I can see all of that. These AC leakage currents come from where?
eddy currents induced in the casework? across the x-former secondary?

Assuming the casework is correctly grounded - and the signal ground
plane is also tied to the same ground... won't these currents tend to
go to ground via the mains? (in an unbalanced design)
