OK, so do you realise that the only difference between firmware 84 and the previous version is the addition of the DAC Roll-off Filter option, which is set to the previously used value by default. If you didn't change that setting then the firmware you have just enthused about is exactly the same as the previous firmware. You expected to hear a difference, so you did.
