The SB3 can do 24/48 so the server transcodes 24/96 to 24/48 for the SB3 and such like: 176.4 & 88.2 > 44.1 192 & 96 > 48 The SB3 is always 24bit 16bit audio gets padded to 24bit. So the digital out is always 24bit and if you use the volume control or replay-gain tags they work in 24 bit . This is very good , but be aware of the fact that synced player gets one stream to share, the stream that fits you least capable player .
