Not at all necessary if you use dBpoweramp or EAC as ripper's

They have the Accurate rip function where your rip is compared to
others in a datbase file per file .
Even with a small number of matches you be pretty sure that you have an
bit-perfect rip .

Also most rips are bitperfect anyway .

And to take care of that pesky 1% that don't rip well, there are
methods used by the better CD rippers besides accu rip .

I run ruby ripper on my linux box it for example uses very secure
methods and then rip the same track 2 or 3 times and compare result .
Wonder if roby is using cdparanoia in the background ?

IN GENERAL NOT NECESSARY TO LISTEN AT ALL, BECAUSE IN A REAL WORLD
SITUATION MOST RIPS YOU DO ARE BITPERFECT COPIES OF THE CD AND THUS
COMPLETELY INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM A RIP DONE WITH ANOTHER CD DRIVE .

Just avoid using these fast unsecure methods proposed in many ripper
applications, these or for the kidz when they are impatience and wants
to listen *now* it's not necessary to rip a CD in 30 seconds ;)
