In this weeks email update from HDTracks there was a big announcement about how HDTracks now has hi-rez downloads available from The Who. what was NOT mentioned in the email was how they have once again raised their prices. Here is quick run down of HDTracks' prices (in US dollars) for hi-rez downloads:
Normal hi-rez downloads (24bit and either 88.2 or 96 kHz) - $17.98 Rolling Stones hi-rez downloads (24bit/88.2 kHz) - $19.98 Ultra hi-rez downloads (24bit and either 176.4 or 192 kHz) - $29.98 The Who hi-rez downloads (24bit/96 kHz) - $22.98 Mind you the only Who recording presently being offered is "Tommy" but the price being charged for it represents a $3 increase over the price of the Rolling Stones downloads and a $5 (27.7%) increase over their "normal" hi-rez price. And this is for a 42 year old recording which has been issued and reissued more times than I care to count. Hopefully this recording will be soon available as a lower cost download from several alternative sites in the near future. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 (oops) -> Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86244 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
