There is a number of things I'd like to add to this discussion.

1. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that if I want to own an
audiophile Squeezebox, I should better get a Transporter now, because
they might not be around for long, and there is no indication that
there is going to be a successor, right?

2. An SE would be okay, but I won't get any warranty for it in Europe.
What about the Swiss Edition? Is it still available, and what are the
differences?

3. For me, a Transporter 2 could be a black box. I own a Boom and a
Duet, and I must say that I hardly ever touch the Boom's controls. I
only use the knob to navigate the library when I am too lazy to power
up the Controller, and even then, I use the IR remote to start the
playback.

4. This may sound crazy, but in my eyes, the most important feature
lacking from the Transporter are (balanced) analogue inputs. Ideally, I
would connect the Transporter directly to my RMB-100 power amps using
XLR cables. In order to be able to listen to analogue material, I would
then plug my RC-995 pre-amp into the analogue inputs of the Transporter,
which would automatically be routed through whenever the Transporter is
powered down. This makes more sense to me than routing the Transporter
output through an analogue pre-amp.
