But much more importantly -- you can print your own disks/cpus etc. => http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page Quite probably, the day is not far off when we'll be able to use discarded litter material (plastic, metal, glass, etc.) to feed it into a 3D printer which will use a Creative Commons sourced blueprints (wikipedia style) to print solar panels, accumulator batteries, consumer electronics, you name it.
