The link you sent has a link to the manual for the receiver.  It has
what it calls a "direct" mode for stereo but the description ("shortest
path" as "close to the original") is not 100% clear. If "direct"
bypasses the DAC in the pioneer (which is what I *think* the manual is
saying), this is what you want when you use analog out from the
Transporter. And of course you'll be using RCA connects.  But you can
also use a S/PDIF cable from the transporter and connect this to
digital in on your receiver. BOTH the analog out and digital out on the
Transporter are "on" at the same time. So you could A/B both approaches
easily enough with the receiver.
