Except you should not really use id3 with flac it "works" but is not standard.
http://flac.sourceforge.net/faq.html#general__tagging But most good tagging apps like mp3tag or similar knows how to write the rigth kind of tag and also how to strip of any one that should not be there, so it's really not that hard, I don't really know how it works, I just don't mix tag formats as SBS (and other apps ) get knackered when i do. Custom Browse with Custom Scan is probably very powerful if one wants to make that kind of effort .
