The database using more memory indeed speeds up search and browsing response, so use it if you have enough phisycal RAM. It can´t change the sound. Priority is there if your server don´t have enough computing power and is busy with other applications that steal performance. Setting a higher priority may help getting Squeezebox server running in this case.
