Hello:
I'm in the process of installing an audio system in my basement rec
room. I'd like to build a patch panel for all of the speaker
connections. I have some RG6 coax already in the walls. What I'd like
to do is use the coax to transmit the +/- on the same cable. The
speaker wire (+/-) plug into the receiver, then I'd like to combine
them into some sort of RCA connector to plug into the patch panel.
Behind the patch panel I'd attach the coax to transmit the signal to a
the back of another patch panel in a closet. In the closet, the speaker
connections for the surround, rear surround, and zone 2 terminate. Each
of these would then be plugged into the patch panel in the closet.
Probably more complicated than it needs to be but I'm hoping it will
work.
Any suggestions for connector types and wall plates/patch panels is
greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
