Just some comments on SBGK's priority settings. I am running TT3.0 in
otherwise stock config. Touch has the usual accoutrements, linear PS,
coaxial output to BDA-1 DAC, balanced into analog preamp, wired
ethernet, iPeng, etc. I cut and pasted SBGK's mods from his post on p48
updated on Dec. 22 into tt. I listened to it for 3 hours yesterday.

First the good part...and it's really good IMO. Smooth and fluid, I
guess what some would call organic or analog-like. Unlike anything I've
ever heard out of a digital source here. Sounds good with all types of
music I tried, from plain female vocal to heavy metal. If the
development of Touch SQ ended here, it would still be very impressive
when held to any standard IMO, never mind the standard of a stock
stand-alone Touch. This was not a subtle change from plain TT3.0 in my
system.

The bad part: like some other people noticed, I get a fuzziness, and
here it comes and goes. It doesn't sound scratchy, but more like the
processing of some packets (or something...) isn't totally handled to
completion, almost as though it gets interrupted lol. Hard to put my
finger on, I was too involved in listening to the good stuff. The
fuzziness won't be present for long periods, but then it shows up and
stays for an extended period, then is gone again for quite a while.
This didn't happen with TT3.0 by itself. I have not tried to
investigate the issue in any way yet. When it was sounding good it was
so good I had no prob listening through the muffled/fuzzy stuff,
something I wouldn't normally tolerate, in anticipation of when it
would be good again.
