agree it is not quite there, but sound is very nice, just need to work
out how to add the top end back in, in a civilised manner. am stumped
at the moment, playing with pdflush priorities is most promising, even

chrt -f -p 1 155 and chrt -f -p 1 154 makes a difference. doing
anything with jive_alsa and loadavg is too heavy handed.
