Ripper EAC or dBpoweramp for managing iPods and other mp3 player I dont
know , you could still use iTunes for that .
for tag managment mp3tag or tag&rename or puddletag(linux).

Please discard anything that TAS says about computer audio as BS, they
are cracpots I read their series it is absolute and unadultered
nonsense .

Don't be swayed by that, read it carefully and you realize that they
sugest completely impossible things.

Now I'm sure that there are good reason for using jriver anyway as sue
recomends it :)
