Yep, can't argue with that.  My 'go to' tracks for testing the bass:

'Daytona', Chris Rea
'Rough Boy', ZZ Top
and occasionally, 'Little Bird', Annie Lennox

So bringing the thread back towards it's original purpose (partly,
anyway) - my speakers are two-way transmission lines that I built from
a kit and plans from IPL acoustics.  As supplied, the crossover was
supposed to yield a very flat response, but I've always liked a bit of
a boost in the bass and the top end - like the classic 'rock' EQ
'smile' curve I suppose.  Being able to tweak the crossover to yield a
sound I like was a really satisfying part of making my own speakers,
but I'm pretty sure their measured response would look a bit odd to
refined audiophile eyes, even though they sound really good to my
ears.

Ok, so perhaps that was the opposite of the original question.
