I have just purchased a 'Touch' because of this app (having previously had a 'classic'). I have listened to high res Jazz music through my Naim Dac with and without EDO and, in my opinion, EDO is better with the same resolution music (plus it can play higher resolution music and I look forward to future 24/192 WAV support). The music has a warmer more realistic midrange for vocals and deeper bass (this may, of course, be less desirable if you already have warm sounding speakers). The added warmth suits my Kudos speakers well. Scientifically I cannot explain why a stream of one/zero bits should sound any better but, to my ears, I prefer the EDO presentation.
In any case my main reason for posting is to thank 'Triode' for creating this app and allowing the playing of high resolution music.
