Hopefully my SB3 will have a good few years left in it yet, I may pick up a Squeezebox Touch second-hand as a alternative/backup device. The future, if the ecosystem has a future (and I hope it has) looks like it will be VortexBox-like devices for the server end, with devices like a Raspberry Pi or eeeBox running SqueezePlay for the player end, feeding a good quality DAC via digital out/optical cable. Personally, I'm not too bothered about the online services, it's all about my local music, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
