I see it as a threshold phenomen once the signal is good enough for your DAC to cope with it you can't tell the difference.
But modern DAC's are very good at coping with bad signals and even the most humble modern source is good enough anyway . I remember different times in the 90's where digital sources etc could have an influence . So yes the Touch is better but the probability of actually hearing it varies . But native 24/96 and AAC and better wifi sealed the deal for me and the cool color display . note SB3 display is superior in some aspect visibility over distance and more options for customisation .
