I was not complaining I was just stating the reality of the situation.

And, yes Apple does have quite a bit of "power" in the marketplace.
However, has you pointed out Apple does exist in a capitalist and
democratic environment so, thankfully, there is lots of competition and
many other choices. For example, although Apple does not recognize FLAC,
Squeezeboxes do and so I and many others have chosen the Logitech
Squeezebox system as a way to manage and stream our computer based
digital music libraries.
