Yep but it not always easy do at at home .

But the ideal circumstance evaluating things

1. Is it even possible , some tweaks are so unlikely so you only have to
do a reality check against genral laws of physics and know " how things
work " to discard the whole idea .

2. Have similar ideas had any sucess in the past ?

3. Measure it ! ( this is the part most home users can't do ) does it
actually change anything , if it does not measure different it can't
sound different .

3b google up,someone else measurements

4 . Try to figure if it matters at all , there is knowledge base out
there on what we actually can hear it would be futile to try to hear
difference between 0,008% thd and 0,009% when human hearing in best
circumstances can detect 0,1%

5. Listen via some abx or ab test  ,you established that there is a real
difference but can you hear it :)

Btw it can still be worthily to implement real improvements even if they
can't realy be heard in isolation ,things add up in the end.
