Given the same audio file on any of the mediums you're asking about you should not be able to tell any difference in the sound from the Touch. This is because this is just data being fed to the Touch which then passes this on either through one of the digital or RCA outputs. When you say laptop HDD are you talking about putting a laptop HDD in some type drive caddy and connecting it to the Touch or are you talking about actually running squeezeserver on a laptop which then feeds the Touch? >From the way you've framed the question it sounds like you're asking about using "tiny squeeze" on the Touch rather than feed the Touch from a external squeezeserver. In either case the result should be the same.
