Squeezeplay, Squeezelite and variants now run on a number of different HW platforms. Squeezeplayer + Orange Squeeze provides similar functionality for Android as iPeng does for iOS. Eventually the development in 'this thread' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101624-Announce-Squeeze-on-Arch-developer-version) should yield another workable solution. So far the best quality output will probably be a combination of player software on a networked micro-device with USB output to an asynchronous DAC. I expect to see more complete, integrated products emerge (as compared to DIY projects) along the lines of the 'hifiberry' (http://www.hifiberry.com/).
