There are NO "well regarded engineers" who write for Stereophile (and AudioStream is a sub-division of Stereophile) since by the very nature of Stereophile anything associated Stereophile can not possibly be well regarded. As to your point about ASYNCHRONOUS USB - last time I bother to look I was under the impression that ASYNCHRONOUS USB was the solution. Oh wait, let's make up a new problem and then SELL a new solution. And I fully understand the function of the USR device: solving a problem that doesn't need solving since that problem can so easily be avoided.
