This is exactly why you should ABX :) Two working digital sources
connected to a functioning dac can't sound that different (due to how
things really work ) . This IS how perceptional bias mess with your
brain if you are so inclined (we all are to a varying degree ) .

Having a past as true believer I have not been that rigorous compiling
my own setup (otherwise it would have been different ) , but i've seen
the price tags on some equipment you tend to consider , so it can be
worthwhile to be more scientific .

You sometimes throws in nutbalz like Zanden or Lampizator ? Due to the
limits of human hearing you may actually end up with such a product
(that perform worse than a Chinese 50$ DVD player ) .
You could narrow down the field to more reasonable designs , you also
mention dCS who measures very well ,on a different planet almost ?
(however to expensive ).

To be fair i haven’t heard all of these things ,but some things are so
lets say unorthodox and anti science that you don’t have to . It's up
the such people to actually prove why we should consider voodoo tech of
this kind ?
When normal electrical engineering and the science of our hearing have
other things to say . The laws of electricity works the same for audio a
transistor does not if its music or what else it processes .
So there is no special case for audio in physics maybe that you can be
less rigorous than for example when you design measuring equipment that
is much more sensitive than humans . You get away with far worse
engineering audio ?

It's a waste of time to try everything out there considering for example
that most ideas human kind ever had usually turns out to be wrong .
So science is great filter unless you have plenty of time and want to
randomly test 1000's of things and then finally decide upon a flawed
test method (sighted tests ) what extremely expensive thing to buy ?
It is truly futile sorry if you really have to go that way .

Vibration control a waste of time for modern SS electronics . Believe me
i had all kinds of pucks dampers and cones under electronics does not do
anything a pure scam that I fell for when I was in the cult .

Furniture and room very yes ,for vinyl players yes . I once threw out a
set of book cases I definitely could hear :)
