Jason, it's is refreshing to see how The Truth continually escapes you. In my objectivists mind golden ears are congenital liars, impossible to educate, and get everything they see or are told completely wrong. For example Jason, let's take your oft-repeated false claimk that objectivists use low-brow pawn shop gear as their gold standard. Got any evidence of that? Of course not! Its just something you say to deflect people's attention from The Big Lie that you tell over and over again. > > That's your thing right? > No Jason, its your false claim de jour. > > The audiophile stuff is a blatant rip-off because it DOESN'T SOUND ANY > BETTER than gear missing one or even two zeros off the end. > The biggest lie here is that that there are any missing zeroes at all. BTW what kind of zeroes are you talking about - zeros in the dollars column of the price, or zeros relating to technical performance? Just because someone jacks up the price of something beyond belief doesn't mean that they have set the new standard and/or that anything that costs less is missing something in the pricing department. There are standard ways to set pricing based on development costs, production costs and comparable values. Golden ear gear generally misses that boat by several days. > > And my thing -- what I believe is the nut of the audiophile mistrust of > ABX testing -- is that switching back and forth in real time MASKS the > types of differences that distinguish high-end gear. > (1) So don't switch back and forth so much when you are ABXing. Any fool who has studied ABX testing knows that listeners are always allowed to switch when they want to. Jason, didn't get the memo? Are you a functional illiterate so I can count on you telling this lie early and often no matter how times you get corrected? (2) Science says that keeping people from switching back and forth when they are comfortable doing so hurts their sensitivity and reliability as listeners. That is one of the inherent problems with cable-swapping, it makes people wait and wait to hear the other piece of gear. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ arnyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64365 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103950 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
