All that is needed is a detailed examination of the audio output of the DAC to see if there is noise that is above the threshold of hearing and traceable to the power supply. Been there, done that and come up dry. I have a goodly number of SMPS and analog wall warts with similar voltage and current capabilities. One of these days I'm going to pitch the iron ones. For one thing the SMPS have inherent superior immunity to power line variations. If they produce any noise at all that makes it through to the audio inputs (garbage DAC alert!) it is generally both really small and ultrasonic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ arnyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64365 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106593 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
