I was specifically thinking of doing the uninstall/reinstall cycle for the LMS software, but I've improved systems by backing out an OS update or even an upgrade, and just running it through the process again. This is not necessarily the stupidity of doing the identical same thing and expecting a different result, as it is rare for an install/uninstall or uninstall/reinstall cycle to have the same identical results the first or second time.
