This being a Squeezebox forum I assume you are running LMS on your Windows server and streaming to Squeezebox clients. That said, any difference you hear in sound quality after an OS update is imaginary.
It falls into the same category as "WAV vs. FLAC" or decoding FLAC on the server vs. at the client. No one has ever demonstrated it makes any auditory difference. If you hear something new, then your prior configuration was faulty -- not likely -- or you are under the sway of "expectation bias". The latter is completely understandable. A Windows upgrade can be a long and stressful experience. And I'm sure the new version looks very nice. In any case, I'm glad your system sounds better to you. Have you tried audiophile Ethernet cables or a data "reclocker"? People of similar mind often attribute these with the same magical effect. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apesbrain's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=738 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109629 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
