Ron,

I tend to agree with your generalizations about CPA's working as internal
auditors. At one time in my career, I was an Audit Manager and found CPA's
very set in there ways on how to perform internal audits. Seems they were
always interested in determining if accounts were properly reconciled,
expenses/revenues properly classified, etc. They were for the most part not
interested in the control and security infrastructure in a company...like
their CIA counterparts were. Another generalization I found was that CPA's
seemed to be more intelligent than the CIA's...but the CPA's lacked
creativity (which in my opinion was a more important attribute in the audit
function).
