It would seem sensible to change the application to require the current date, rather than the whole system to change the application.
And on a cautionary note: if your audit trail/system log has dates which cannot be shown to be correct or relevant, and this will be the case if you alter the system clock to suit the application, then you will have difficulties relying on this elsewhere as a factual source of control evidence. Finally if the system clock date is used to date transactions, and the clock date is altered - to be the wrong day, you may find that you have some legal implications concerning your transactions.
